As a child I learned to sew by making doll clothes. Fast forward 30 years and I was a Chef, a Mom and a Foster Mom, and only got the sewing machine out to patch & hem jeans. Last summer my husband and I left the kids to attend a Culinary Convention and I tried to find a 'Chef' doll for my 5 year old foster daughter. Creating a miniature Chef uniform for her doll brought back all the things I loved about sewing; pattern design, choosing amazing fabrics and having drawers of trim I couldn't leave in the store.
For Adoption & Birthday Gifts I began designing other Career Clothes for her friend's dolls. Through word of mouth, my collection grew. Now in a house full of boys; designing doll clothes is my secret feminine passion, my outlet and escape after the chores and homework is done. As a Foster Mom, I feel very strongly about kids owning personalized items. Having your name on a beloved toy is important to kids. I also put the date on some items; since I craft my clothes to withstand hard play, I like the idea of the next generations playing with their grandmother's dolls.
Reasonable Pricing is a HUGE motivation for me. My clothes are designed to be part of a collection, and I love that my Clients loyally return to purchase new items. I will protect our relationship by designing clothes & accessories at reasonable prices. And 'stitching in a name' is always free!
